Office ProPlus and Office Online
As a University faculty, student, or staff member, you will soon be able to download and install Office ProPlus (includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint) on up to five devices (mobile, tablet, home computer etc.). You will also gain access to Office Online, the cloud versions of these products, as well as 1 TB of online file storage space in OneDrive. These services will make it much easier to collaborate with your peers and to work from virtually anywhere!
What’s the difference?
Office ProPlus is the classic Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, OneNote and OneDrive for Business) that are installed on your laptop or desktop computer. Office Online extends your Microsoft Office experience to the web browser, where you can work with files directly on the website where they are stored.
All Office 365 customers can view and edit Office files using Office Online. If you need to perform more complex tasks (formulas, animation, tables, etc.) it is recommended to work directly on your computer.
